Meet Dr. Firshein
Dr. Richard Firshein, DO, is board-certified in family medicine, and the leading authority in the fields of Integrative, Anti-Aging, and Precision-Based Medicine. He embarked on his journey as a physician over 25 years ago and founded the Firshein Center for Integrative Medicine on Park Avenue in New York City. As an early pioneer in Integrative medicine, his mission has been to help each of his patients achieve not only an optimal health span but also an extended lifespan.
Dr. Firshein is the best-selling author of several books, including The Nutraceutical Revolution, The Vitamin Prescription for Life, Reversing Asthma, and Your Asthma Free Child. In addition to being an Osteopathic Physician, Dr. Firshein is also a Certified Medical acupuncturist who incorporates both Eastern and Western modalities into his therapeutic regimen. Dr. Firshein has served as assistant professor of Family Medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and as director of residency training in Family Medicine and director of medical education at Brookdale and St. Claire’s Hospital in New York City.
In addition to his professional/medical experience, Dr. Firshein belongs to numerous medical organizations, such as The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, the American Board of Forensic Medicine, the New York County Medical Society, the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Firshein advocates and supports a number of philanthropic organizations, including the Paul Sorvino Asthma Foundation, where he developed the “Breath of Life Program” for asthmatic children that was recognized by both the AMA and the NYC Mayor’s Office.

In this model, Dr. Firshein has considerably fewer patients than typical primary care doctors. This allows him to have enough time to provide each and every patient with personalized, unhurried care. Members of Firshein CCPHP pay an affordable annual fee to take advantage of a wide array of member benefits and enjoy a more convenient, connected, and compassionate approach to healthcare.
Membership fees are payable to Firshein CCPHP, a business entity formed by Dr. Firshein and CCPHP that is separate from his medical practice. Dr. Firshein provides all professional services through his practice, Richard Firshein, DO. Since the membership fees do not pay for any insurance-covered healthcare services, we recommend that our members maintain their health insurance. Contact us for more information.
Practice Philosophy
As a physician, my greatest satisfaction is derived from working closely and comprehensively with my patients in an unhurried environment so that I can be my patients’ advocate and advisor regarding longevity and quality of life.
In order to alleviate some of the barriers in today’s healthcare environment that interfere with my ability to continue to practice this way, I have collaborated with Castle Connolly Private Health Partners, LLC (CCPHP), to create a new concierge program called Firshein CCPHP, LLC.
The program provides my patients with a wide variety of membership amenities to enhance their care experience, such as access to the innovative SENS Solution® Wellness Program, which includes a personal health coach who collaborates with me to optimize their wellbeing.
The patient-physician relationship is what I value the most as your family doctor. With this model, I will be able to provide a connected, convenient, collaborative care approach on a more ongoing and consistent basis. Ultimately, this program allows me to continue putting you, my patient, first.
